About Jhansi Ki Rani

Rani Laxmi Bai, popularly known as Jhansi Ki Rani, was a remarkable and fearless Indian queen who played a significant role in India’s struggle for independence. Born on November 19, 1828, in Varanasi, she was named Manikarnika Tambe. She later married the king of Jhansi, Gangadhar Rao Newalkar. Rani Laxmi Bai emerged as a symbol of bravery and resistance during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. When Jhansi faced the threat of annexation by the British East India Company, Rani Laxmi Bai took up arms and led her troops into battle. Her valiant efforts and indomitable spirit inspired countless others to join the fight against British rule. Despite facing numerous challenges, Rani Laxmi Bai displayed extraordinary courage and leadership. She fearlessly defended her kingdom and became an icon of female empowerment in India’s history. Tragically, Rani Laxmi Bai attained martyrdom on June 18, 1858, during the Battle of Gwalior. Rani Laxmi Bai’s legacy continues to inspire people to this day. Her unwavering determination and sacrifice have made her a symbol of courage and resilience.
